We have two hours left until our return flight. As Patrick speeds our rental car along on the
motorway, I scroll through Lisbon’s restaurants recommended by TripAdvisor. I am looking
for a change after our meat-heavy cuisine in central Portugal and, being from Hamburg, and
Peruvian socialised, "A Cevicheria" immediately catches my eye. I don’t hesitate long before
I punch the address into my phone’s navigation system. We step over a mosaic doormat
made of bright white sandstone and enter into the restaurant bordering the beautiful
“Jardim do Príncipe Real”. Three metre high iron window shutters with cut out fish and
seagull designs point toward the style of food served here. After drinking a “Pisco sour” at
the bar outside we find out what awaits us inside: It’s all about fish, marinated raw fish in all
variations.
